We have a standard golden doodle, Palani, who is very protective/bossy and high anxiety. We knew training was needed for her and ourselves. Madison has been wonderful with training Palani and ourselves and being clear with what we needed to be doing weekly to achieve our goals. Prior to training, Palani was very stubborn and didn’t take commands and her anxiety was so high she was a basket case out in public. This past weekend we had our field trip at the Riverside Arts Market with Madison, our trainer, and Palani was 100% better and more confident to walk through the Labor Day weekend crowds. The following day I adventured to St Augustine just Palani and myself. Palani did so well that as we passed people you could here them whispering “Oh look, a service dog!” This was ultimately our goal and we are thrilled to have Madison train us to get us here.
I say us because it doesn’t happen with just the weekly visits from your trainer. You the owner have to put in the work and be very engaged with training. We have trained daily with Palani between our visits with Madison. Each week we work on what Madison has worked Palani on and we wouldn’t be where we are without having done so.
